For male to female transsexuals, yes, the results can be perfectly undetectable- it all looks as real as they come.

For female to male transsexuals, not so much. To get the best of the best, it is prohibitively expensive and still doesn't look perfectly right, although it can come close. But it still has a long way to go.

Oh, and as per functioning, yes and no. Male to female constructed vaginas can either not be self-lubricating the way biological vaginas can, or they can be made to self-lubricate, but then they often still lubricate, but without control- meaning the person may have to wear kotex pads for the rest of their lives. After surgery, some feeling may have gone, but generally everything feels the same and orgasms are just as fun, if a little different. They can certainly urinate the same as a woman, as it only takes a little rerouting of the urethra. And of course, male to female transsexuals can't menstruate or have children, since they don't have the internal workings of women.

Female to male transsexuals have many different surgeries and consider themselves fully transitioned, so it's a little harder to explain. The point is that they can definitely still have orgasms, but of course can't ejaculate (unless it is female ejaculation that could be done beforehand, and only if they vagina wasn't sewn up- but even then, it comes from a different place, not from the 'penis'). If the new penis is an extension of the clitoris, then it can certainly get erect, just like women's clitorises. If it's made of donor flesh, it can't get erect on its own, but FtM's use the same internal pumping erectile device that impotent men use. If the urethra is rerouted through the clitoris or artificially created penis, then they can certainly pee through the organ like a biological penis. Of course transmen can't impregnate a woman, since they have no sperm and similar internal structures.
Neither can the new penises lubricate themselves like biological mens' secrete 'pre-***'. But they work well enough.

Hope that helps!

For the mtf operation, unless the surgeon messes up it looks real enough that pretty much only another doctor could tell.
I don't know about the ftm operation though.

The results aren't as good for female to male transsexuals, but for male to female transsexuals the results are really good, especially from a really good surgeon.

Some gynecologists can't even tell- the best results of these operations make you look just like any other woman, just with a hysterectomy.

for the most part it looks like the opposite sex parts. if the surgeon is good, the parts can work too by using nerves.

No, in a woman to man you have to pump up the artificial penis for sex, in a man to woman the " vagina"is really just a surgically dug hole and does not lubricate so you have to put a lot of K-Y down there. Neither can have children either as the operations sterilize you.

It probably depends upon how good the doctor performing the surgery does the job. But it probably does.
