i want one really bad, but my parents think that i wont have enough time for it. but i know how to take care of it and that you have to spend LOTS of time with it...is it realy that hard?

They aren't extremely hard to care for, and they are great pets. It's true that you should have 2 because they can get lonely or depressed, but I have seen people own only one and it does fine, but it will need more attention. These babies eat a special diet that has to be made at home. It can't be bought at pet stores, as well as fresh fruit and veggies every night. They need a cage that is at least 36 inches high, which can get expensive. They require bonding time with you (at least 3 hours a day), and can become nippy if they aren't given enough attention. Also, since they are nocturnal they are up at night, and need someone that can take them out and play with them for a few hours between 9 pm and 7 am or so. That can be difficult with a lot of people's schedules. Also, the males can be a little smelly if you don't keep up on the cleaning because of their scent glands. They are great pets and I wouldn't trade mine for anything, but they do have special needs that not everyone can meet.

Yes. They also need a quiet peaceful environment. A friend of mine has some, and he keeps them away from commotion. Why don't you do some research on the internet? There are tons of websites with all the info you need. Good luck!

yes they are very hard,, i dated a girl who had a pair of them,, you have to have two of them,,if you only have one it will get sick and die,, they take constant care,, every time she would come see me she had to bring there cage with her ( we lived on our own),, they must constantly be looked after,, and they re very temperamental,, either they like you right off or they will never like you and will growl and bark at you all the time,, hers hated me. i would suggest not getting them if you don't want to put a lot of time in to them,, they also have a special diet they must follow.

they need alot of attention or get depressed and lonely which can actually kill them.I had one and couldnt get him use to me-I ended up giving it to a friend that had more patience
