Warm water has more energy to feed to the atmosphere than does the land. When warm moist air is lifted, it cools to a point where the water vapor condenses into liquid water droplets that form clouds and precipitation. Latent heat is released in the condensation process that adds energy to the growing storm. Hurricanes only form over warm tropical waters and usually during late summer and early autumn when the water is at its warmest. The warm moist air is the fuel that feeds the hurricane and when a hurricane reaches land it becomes much weaker.

Sea surface temperature causes the pressure variations which in turn is responsible for hurricane formations.Hence water is the main source of energy for hurricanes.That is why when it crosses the shore and enters the land it becomes weak.

With so much water deposited in the same place in a relatively short time, the sewage system can't cope, then all the dirt comes out and contaminates most fresh water sources.

it is because moist air is lighter than dry air. the sun heats and evaporates water. the warm moist air rises and more air moves in. this creates wind, warm wind evaporates more warer, it keeps increasing as long as there is heat from the sun and warm water.
the spiral is because the earth is smaller on the north side and the rotation.
