my husband is from Cienfuegos, Cuba and I too am going next year to visit his family. I included a link to a pretty good site that has packages available as well. Check it out.
Cienfuegos

The province of Cienfuegos lies on the south central coast of the island, and borders the provinces of Matanzas, Villa Clara and Sancti Spiritus. Its main urban center is the city of Cienfuegos, located on the important and modern port of Jagua Bay. Several rivers flow into the bay, and form numerous keys and lagoons that go into the Caribbean Sea.

The city of Havana is the capital of the Republic of Cuba and was founded in 1515. Its founders called it Villa San Cristóbal, but the Indians of the area insisted on calling it Havana. Due to its geographical position and the excellent characteristics of its bay it was given the name Llave del Mundo (Key to the World). For centuries, it was an obligatory stop for Spanish fleets, conquerors and adventurers.

The drive along the causeway to Cayo Coco is 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from where its coral reef extends for more than 21 kilometers (13 miles), with white, fine sands and clear waters. The key is known for the softness of its sand, the unparalleled beauty of its seafloor, and its landscapes of abundant vegetation, where deer (odocorleusvirginianus), wild pigs (sus scrofa) and other wild animals freely wander. The area also contains outstanding rocky points, coastal shelves and natural trails
