I know job applications will say they're equal opportunity employers, do not discriminate based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, etc..., and all that. But come on. Nothing is 100%. I bet some employers are somewhat lying when they say that. Right?

Remember that for every job that is announced there are entry level people applying with brand new education and training as well as people already in the career field with real life experience.

I do not know how long you have been trying to get work. It does sound like you are discouraged by rejection; I hope you do not have a chip on your shoulder (whoa is me, the world is against me) type attitude.

If you are really concerned about discrimination, try looking for work with the Federal Government. There is an entire career filed call Equal Employment Opportunity to stop discrimination.
See below for the site to see Federal jobs.

Well, that's true, unfortunately. Present yourself as well as possible, so they'll feel you're the best applicant for the job. Don't sound like you have a chip on your shoulder - that's one of the surest ways to take yourself out of the running for a job.

Sometimes it can work the other way - a hiring manager will be directed to give preference to minority applicants in one category or another. I've been in that situation as a hiring manager.

i dont think u can, i dont think many jobs do discrimate, if they need some one bad and u have the work exp they will hire you providing u have a good work history ,most jobs look for your job history over discriminating, also just because u dont get the job i dont think u can say they are discriminate they have the right to hire who they want good luck

If you appear to have a chip on your shoulder, you probably won't get the job.
