Miami is better than Detroit in all violent crimes except robbery. Aggravated assault is almost the same rate. It is significantly better in armed assault and robbery, but so much better in rape and murder rates.

Miami is very diversified, whereas Detroit is predominately black. Not that makes a different but alot of people (that aren't blk) are scared because now theyre the minority. The crime rate in Detroit is #2 in the US, not because thyre attacking anyone and everyone that comes into the city, but because alot of it is black on black crime, bcus of drug wars and so on. I feel very comfortable each weekend that I go to bars/clubs there, just as i did when i visited Miami. The two cities are completely different anyway!

miami is a lot safer.
Detroit had cut thier Police force by 150 just before the Super Bowl, , Remeber Detroit is flat broke. hence the crime rate.
there is also plans to trim the fire department. AAlso the EMS serivce was trim too.
Miami has more police officers and firefighters than detroit.
So over all miami is safer.

I live two hours away from Detroit
Miami, because all the Haitians and Puerto Ricans are always selling drugs and killing each other. Detroit ain't that bad trust me, I have people their.

I think Miami is safer, as far as walking around. Of course, I still wouldn't recommend going around alone in the worst parts. Detroit is scary everywhere.

If you take out the killings, Detroit actually has a very low crime rate

detroit has the most crimes and miami is a lot safer because they carry guns in detroit
