Well, clearly the "lover" has to have life, so I assume it's the one loved that is "without life."
And that's not so uncommon, I think. Most of us love those close to us who have died, and some love even figures in history that they've never known. A few even love fictional characters, who've never had life.

Either way...its nothing...love is life and life is love..without love, you have no life to live and without life, you have no love to spread.

i think that is to love without waiting to be loved
you love somebody you can't touch you can't kiss but you love and you feel deep inside that this is true and strong love
