You cant be very good if you cant even find that out !!!

To start with you have to be able to solve problems and with respect you will not find your answer here. There are so many different types of problems that need investigation, you must obviously decide your specialist subject. Could be, Crime, Fraud, Industrial, Matrimonial etc.
It is not all Sherlock Holmes! It is very hard work and often very time consuming.
Suggest if you are serious, telephone a local Private Investigator and ask for a job! Good luck

Join the police force. The majority of good PIs come from the ranks of detetctives. However, if you can't handle that, take courses in it and look for a firm that will take you on to learn the ropes.

Read a few Sherlock Holmes novels and walk around with a magnifying glass to start and then take it from there matey.
