It really is best not to use tampons while using monistat. The reason why is because they absorb the medication and you will not cure your yeast infection.
Hope you're feeling better and more comfortable soon!
cheers

You can but it is certainly not advised, tampons can significantly increase risk of vaginal infections because they prevent normal vaginal self-cleaning functions, leave fibres within the vagina, give bacteria and yeast a place to multiply, absorb discharge leading to vaginal splitting, tampons are unhygienic and commercial tampons put chemicals into the vagina that can interfere with vaginal flora.
With Monistat specifically tampons will also absorb the medication which will interfere with the treatment making the course of treatment superfluous in essence.
I would recommend you look at safer menstrual options such as organic or cloth pads or menstrual cups if you prefer internal options – a small point here is that commercial pads will also increase risk of vaginal infections, this is because the synthetic materials prevent aeration making your vulva moist and warm, chemicals in commercial pads can also interfere with normal vaginal flora.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

There is many theories on this some say it is best to use tampons if you are prone to yeast infections some say never wear them if you are prone to them.
But in my personal experience I would say no. Give your vagina a chance to regain it's natural chemical balance, as we cannot be sure what tampons are made of.

Do not use tampons, even during the daytime, while using MONISTAT* because they absorb the medication. Use unscented sanitary pads or panty liners during your period.

NO way!.. my gyno said he would kill the person who invented tampons if he knew who it was.. They are the worst thing for women.. I know, I know, they are great for discreatness, but they hold moisture in.. Just think about it.. old blood, sitting there in a natural oven cooking away, just growing yeast and bacteria inside you.. Its just setting you up for worse to come.. Toxic shock syndrome..

No. The tampon will absorb the medicine. Just use pads today and tomorrow, at least.
