For him to buy you a pair of shoes means he wants something in return.....are you willing to give him what he wants? If that answer is no, then don't take the shoes. Once you take the shoes, he has some leverage over you, like a "bargaining" tool if you please. Unless you NEED the shoes, tell him NO WAY! If he already bought them, tell him to get a refund. An ounce of prevention, is worth a pound of cure!

"Nice shoes - wanna screw?" will be the next question he asks.

He is insisting because his johnson needs a cruise up the old Tunnel of Love and he's not getting any anywhere else right now.

He hopes you're an easy lay, so feel welcome to become his zero-class booty call by accepting the shoes.

Everything is wrong with this picture. An ex doesn't buy shoes for an ex unless he has ulterior motives. Insist that you don't want them, but you'll take money for Child Support.

You can accept the shoes. Or offer to pay him for them. They should come with no strings attached - that you meet with him a few times.

Treat it as a gift or that he was thinking of you and picked up something for you as a friend.

Either your current selection of shoes are WAY ugly, or he's trying to get you naked.

Remember the old song:

"just take what men may give you, and give but what you can"

I believe it is important to maintain control of our own lives. You said you didn't want them and he insists? So does that mean he can insist on other things?

Don't start things you don't plan to finish. That's my advice.

Take them but dont feel that you are obligated to do anything in return. If he is wanting something in return then don't accept them

I think it's ok for your daughter since he's the father(?). but for you I'd watch out because he might want something in return.
