Yes. I have always thought this world as an illusion.
You can draw this conclusion by negating the things that you perceive. The perceiver and perception can not be one on the same. For example, if your finger is cut, you feel the pain. You feel the pain means, the “You” is not the pain itself. By this logic, when you experience anything in this world, you always remain as an experiencer whether it is pain or pleasure, it is not independent of the experiencer. Your experiences can change but not you, the experiencer. Your perceptions can not exist independent of you.
This conclusion can also be drawn by studying and deeply thinking over modern physics. Einstins theory of relativity says even space, time and mass changes with speed. Where do you think you exist?
Quantum physics says any matter in this world can be seen as a matter wave. Can one wave be different from other?
There is nothing called perception and perceiver. Your experiences are illusions made by yourself, you are the perceiver and perception by itself.

Parasites are common for example there are flies that plant their larva in Spiders and when the larva hatch they kill the Spider by eating their way out.
That has no bearing on the question of life's illusions! However sense we are not born or initially raised as Enlightened beings our precept ion of reality is limited to our instincts and observations until we can enhance our insight and intuition to evolve true wisdom.
Thus the individual who does this in Buddhist terms is called Awakened, while all others are dreaming. The illusion is thus the constructs you have fomented base on your ergo which is the harbour of all of your worldly desires and perceptions, remove them and become awakened from the dream!

Think about this all the time - I could be sitting in a chair now in a mental asylum and everything I do, think and feel could be an illusion of my mind.
Human beings might not even exist - I could be a single cell organism that has created everything from The Beatles to Shakespeare to the design of the human body - the only good news is that I'm obviously a genius.

Yes many have said this.
A genius, later to become known as Buddha made this clear.
Most of our life as humans are illusion, something not real, something we play with.
Life itself is the supreme reality but what you think of it is an illusion.

I haven't ever thought my entire life was an illusion but I have thought about my perceptions and questioned their truth... what I perceive is true to me in a sense, but is it actually true?? I don't know.... I would say that life is real but we just dont understand it....

always. This one greek philosopher said that nothing is real, nothing exists not one thing... and i believe it, maybe some people in some other place for an unexplained reason, life IS an illusion, maybe theres a small part of their everyday life that isn't really real, maybe they saw someone, but in reality they didn't it was just their mind, so if our minds are conscious to pick up reality then we can imagine things just as easy.

Yes, I have heard that discussed before..
I believe it is nonsense...I am not an illusion..
Of course I have heard of parasites..
What does that have to do with life being an illusion ?

I truly do consider life as an illusion; one in which the most ridicules are highly praised and the worthiest ideals are publicly rejected.
Case in point: Prime news reports,Celebrity watch, Wall street, etc.

I think that we can not know that life is a illusion or not because if this life is a illusion we are also parts of it and also our mind and we have never realised that reality because of our finite mind
