First talk to your teacher. Sometimes getting a tutor isn't what you need. A lot of the teachers in my school are willing to stay after school and answer your questions. If they cannot help, talk to your school guidance counselor. They should be able to help you get the help you need (tutor or peer counselor).

At your school, go to a guidance counselor or a teacher and say I need a tutor or I am going to flunk. If they don't help you go to the head cheese. Ask the principal to help find a tutor for you.
Hope I helped!

I can suggest you a great resource for quality essays - if those are included in the program for your social studies class - you could significantly improve your grade - http://custom-writing.org/
