the only advice i can give is practice, get in a area with hills where there is no traffic, practice, soon it will become second nature. Dont get nervous, that won't help at all. Just relax and take it at your own pace.

If you are used to driving an automatic, driving a manual seems impossible, but it isn´t if you practice.
The secret is to understand that when the car is stopped, the motor is running and you want to get it moving, you will have to engage the first gear (more on this point later), once you gain speed, about 3.000 rpm, you move to second gear and so on.
You must know that in order to shift gears, the gear box must have all the moving parts in a still, this is accomplished by pressing the clutch to the floor.
So for the basics:
- Make sure the car is on a flat and empty space (like a quiet parking lot) and that the shift is in neutral (you can make sure by moving the shift stick, it should feel loose).
-Start the motor and make sure it warms up (this makes it easier to practice).
-Disengage the parking brake and press the clutch all the way down using your left foot, with the right foot press on the accelerator to about 1.500 rpm and release the clutch very slowly at first, and once the car is moving you may do it faster and may have to accelerate a bit more.
- Once the clutch has gone all the way up, press it down again, disengage first gear, move to neutral and stop the car, not the motor. Do this as many times as it takes you to feel comfortable, later you can practice changing from one speed to the next but you´ll need more free space, like an empty road.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

My advice is to "slow down" your motions. Give the car some gas and as slowly as possible, bring the clutch up. Until you get the feel for it. If you feel yourself rolling backwards, put on the emergency brake, give the car some gas, and SLOWLY let off of the clutch. When you feel the car starting to move a bit, without changing what you are doing with your feet, release the brake. The secret is "SLOW". I hope this helps you...

If you're talking about rolling backwards when starting on a hill do this, apply the hand brake, put car into gear, now here's the tricky bit, slowly let out the clutch, apply gas and slowly release the hand brake.Just takes practice.

you just need to pratice your feet cordination a little. the first thing
that you need to learn is where the clutch begins to grab. to find this out start on level ground and find out when the motor begins to slow down. even let it stall so you can pratice giving it gas while releasing the clutch. once you have condifance in releasing
the clutch with the cordination of applying the gas, try doing this with realising the parking brake, all on level ground, this you can cordinate doing three things at once. once you learn, it`s very easy you can master hills and you will wonder why you could`nt
do it before. good luck it isn`t that tough

find a hill you can practice on where there's no traffic around to make you nervous. after awhile you'll get the hang of it.
