Stress definitely can be a factor. However, there are other things that can delay menstruation. If you are not eating healthy or exercising, that can cause an abnormal cycle. Also, if you've lost a lot of weight recently, or gained a lot, that can affect your cycle. Medications you may be on can delay it as well. It should be noted however, that these things actually delay ovulation, and then delay your cycle. If after a week you don't have your period, it's time to take a pregnancy test, or see your doctor.. or both! Best of luck to you!

Absolutely, stress is havoc for some women's menstural cycle. Stress changes your hormone levels which will cause you to be late, and sometimes more of a heavy period will occur. Like you said you haven't been sexually active and you do feel your period coming so my guess is you are a victim of stress related irregular periods. Nothing to worry about, you are not alone.
Good Luck To You :)

Stress can interfere with the amount of hormones at a certain part of your cycle and cause your period to be late. I do think 9 days is definitely late. You can take an over the counter pregnancy test today if you are concerned with possibly being pregnant. The results are given within a matter of minutes. Good luck!

'Stress not only can cause interuptions in your period but can cause health issues with all organs in your body... You need to take a time out relax... and tell someone of your problems... that will help. There are no medicines for stress... You have the key to that...enjoy something that brings you happiness and joy. this will definately help!! You will be back on track just a half hour a day just to breath.... it works wonders...... trust me........tc robbie...

Stress can do alot of things to your body. You just need to try and find a way to relieve some of it. I don't know if they still make them but I have taken Stress Tabs Vitamins before. I gave one to a friend once and she came back and asked me, "What's in those things? I feel so much better." They definitely work.

Stress can be blamed for a lot of things, and this is one of them, if you know what is the cause of your stress try and avoid it, have a look at your diet, too much salty foods can also be a cause.

Yes, it certainly can.
My wife was stressed out & didn't have her period for 2 months. I whipped up an herbal concoction that brought it on for her.
