I want to seal them to prevent the dirt sinking into the surface of the tile, I have tried linseed oil mixed with white spirit and it didn't work, I can't find any product in the DIY shops.

There is a lot of information available on the internet. A Yahoo search for "sealing quarry tile" (include the quotation marks in the Yahoo search box) yields 86 results. If you do the same search, and are willing to spend a little time exploring, I'm sure that you will quickly find lots of useful and interesting information.

Good luck with your search.

They do sell tile and grout sealer in the DIY stores in my area and I have used them. It's called "Aqua Mix - Seal and Finish". The company is out of California.

I seal mine with linseed oil, but I also wax them with traffic wax and buff them down every few weeks to stop them from absorbing any dirt.
