FEAR! Nations, cultures, tribes, men, women, different colours, misunderstandings, loss, all these people that fear? They breed an ignorant hatred. With that comes a lot of grief, misery, hunger, pain, and death.
Our biggest problem in the world today is fear. Palestinians hate the Jews. Whites fear blacks. Muslims hate the western world. The wealthy are afraid of losing what they have. The governments are afraid of other countries. The poor are afraid of the future. Cultures of one kind want to resist and destroy another culture they don't understand,this is fear.
This is the worlds' biggest problem.

There is a rich world and there is a poor world. The rich world has the resources and the capability to make life much better for those who live in the poor world. Instead too many in the rich world fight ideological wars, consume too much of the world's energy, use the poor world as cheap labour to make their trainers and turn off the TV when the plight of the poor is shown.

most people wouldnt see the biggest problem of the all the people, whether its cross-culturally or worldwide because they are more focused on delicate social issues. the biggest problem is overpopulation. until now, there has been debate on whether it is a problem or not and its solution. consider this fact:

1 billion in 1804
2 billion in 1927 (123 years later)
3 billion in 1960 ( 33 years later)
4 billion in 1974 ( 14 years later)
5 billion in 1987 ( 13 years later)
6 billion in 1999 ( 12 years later)
6.6 billion right now (and counting!)

overpopulation caused diseases from developing and escalating quickly, caused inter/intra cultural violence etc. although the population explosion can be blamed to our ancestors when they switch to agriculture (in anthropological perspective, agriculture is the worst mistake human race made, excluding progressivists).

pre-agriculture: 10,000 years ago = 5.3 million
post-agriculture: 6,000 years ago = 86.5 million

Increasing population, because from that stems almost all of our other problems. I say "almost" because religion is the other big problem, and we suffered from that long before the population explosion of the 20th century. However, with a smaller population, we could live far enough away from the religious maniacs not to have to worry about them.

Think about global warming, poverty, disease, intolerance - all these and many other problems would be solved or alleviated if the world's population were halved.
