It's normal to be a couple days late past your due date. If your concern about it, your doctor can recommend something to induce you.

I know that this is the most uncomfortable time for you. But the best thing you can do at this point is try to get as much rest as possible and take it easy. Contrary to others it is not healthy or even medically recommended to try to bring on your labor unless you are two weeks past your estimated delivery date. Even though it is really hard for you, it is best for your baby to not rush the process. Don't force nature because it will happen when it is supposed to happen. Try to sleep as much as you can because you'll need to have a lot of strength and energy when it is time to deliver. Not only that but after the baby is born you probably will not be able to sleep much.

go for a walk. eat something spicy, relax, have sex, there are a lot of different things you can try. Make Cumin tea this can cause labor. Rub your belly with Castor Oil. Don't drink it with out permission from DR and then only if you understand what can happen. You will be sick as sick can be, but you will more than likely go into labor. Have your DR strip your membranes. This helps too.

My friend and I both drunk cod liver oil and did jumping jacks, it worked for both of us. Also with my daughter, my husband and I had sex and that made me go into labor. Cod liver oil tastes nasty, and some people think it is bad, so that would be left up to you. OR you can go into the hospital 'crying' cause you are so 'miserable' they might call your doctor and just decide to go ahead and induce, I have done that to, if you do that, a little tip..... go in looking like CRAP! The worse off you look the better your chances. Good luck.

Of 3 children here... 10 days late (Induced), 12 days late and 5 days late... Your labor and delivery will probably be pretty much like whatever your mom experienced. My only suggestion... walk, walk, walk. Let gravity do its thing. Being upright (instead of lying down) enables things to happen faster. I learned that finally with #3.

Have sex, that will make you contract.
Also you could try a lot of walking and going up a short set of stairs over and over again.
I don't think the spicy thing works, but maybe its just me since I ate salsa every single day of my pregnancy.
Maybe the baby is still in there cause he/she doesn't want to come out yet, she'll let you know when she's ready

You think the calendar knows better than your baby, nope your baby knows when he/she is ready. Due dates are an AVERAGE for every woman that goes into labour 2 weeks early someone goes two weeks late.

1st - no doctor or human can say when the exact date and time of conception was.

2nd - 9 month term to carry a child is a ball park figure. some carry less, some more.

3rd - one cannot predict when a child will be born..its part of nature.

quit thinking you are over due, late, etc....that's all total BS. just let nature take its course and when the child is ready to come out, they will.

to remove a child prior to it wanting to come out to me is like taking a turkey dinner out of the oven an hour early.....why would you?

There are a few old wives tales- whether they actually work or not - but apparently sex can help induce labour - so can pressing on certain pressure points in your inside thighs - to help start contractions.
