I don't dislike anyone due to where they are from or how they look...
I do dislike people who have proven to me that they are idiots in my eyes. Race, gender, religious background, or location plays NO factor in any decision I make!

No. In general I do not dislike the Germans or the French. Having been to both countries, I found good and very good people in both places.
Really the issue is their socialistic view on life often conflict with common sense.
Furthermore, the French government has not come to the reality that they no longer have influence in world politics. They are not the empire they used to be. They have very little power. If it were not for the grace of the countries around them (NATO in particular), the French would be speaking German or who knows what language instead.
Many people in those countries, as well as others, dislike America because of the negative spin from CNN & the Democrats and the trash-talking of the American military that gets aired on the BBC, etc.
So ... while some of the "people" in France and Germany are rude, we have the same type of people here in the US. Once we get to know them and they us, we usually get along just great.

No i find it very insolent to dislike people for their country of origins or dislike a group of people because of stereotypes which have been cast on them. I have been to France and every French person I have met I have found no reason to dislike. I have never been to germany but have had no problems with german people i have met. Anyone who says they dislike someone for being german or french is not a person i would like to associate with.

No, not I - though I am surprised so many of the answers agree with me.
I thought that fear of being overtaken economically (or in sports, in industry, militarily or in terms of influence on the EU) would be more prevalent (which nobody would own up to though).
I think we can all learn a lot from each other, and that there is great food/drink and entertainment (TV, music, art and games) to be had from all, and we should be open to this.
In particular, we should be thankful for the good relationship between all the countries and hope that things get better still.
As for the Greeks on the other hand ....
(just kidding)

whenever i have met germans and french, i have found them quite agreeable
in truth germany and britain have very similar recent cultures, as hitlers views were imposed upon germany and he was an art student in liverpool at turn of century which is where he got most of his ideas
our brit royal family is actually of german descent - our king visited king bill kaiser of germany during the first world war, our royal family ran off to france 100s of years ago as well as the british were going to behead them - so u see we have a lot in common really
i am not representative of my own country and try not to judge people, a lot of british reaction is most closely linked to the episode of fawlty towers 'the germans'
believe me, i have sat thru a conversation with my landlord when i was working in a pub and it went something along those lines, bcos we won we take the moral high ground in the debate and sort of rub ppl up the wrong way - i left shortly the job afterwards
;oP lol

No. I'm sure they're are some Germans or French I don't or wouldn't like- but equally sure the same about Brits or Yanks or whatever. It comes down to two things, really: individuals are all different - some likeable and some not - and ourselves are we likeable or not. Be nice and, generally, somebody else will be nice. Nick

I've been to both countries and met some good people in both. Perhaps I've been lucky but I think that if you expect people to be pleasant they usually are and if you start off with a bad attitude towards anyone you'll get your prejudices confirmed.
