No - no way to "erase" a CD-R.

Best thing to do if you want to get rid of the data is to put it in a plactic bag (like a walmart bag) and bend it until it breaks.

You need to put it in a bag because when it breaks the metalization layer on the CD will explode into thousands of little "sparkly" pieces and they will go everywhere.

A kind of fun way to destroy a CD-R is to place a paper towel sheet in a microwave, place the CD on it with the data side up, and run the microwave on full for about 10 seconds. You'll get a nice light show as well as an unreadable disc.

If you are planning to reuse it- no, you would have to get a CD RW
If you are trying to get rid of data on it- What i do is take a hammer and beat it to little shards, then burn them.

CD-R is not rewritable as well as it is not erasable.
Though you can hide the data on that CD.
What you need is to write again on CD (IF and Only it's multisession) with Lowest possible speed. and your Old data will be lost. Actually you can not use that spcae But in other word, it will be earased.

Nothing more can be done on CD-R,
But i just dont wish to answer shits.

No there is not.. But you can add to it if it has not been closed out. Music and Movies always closes our tho. But you can ususally add to computer files and folders.

no once its burned you cant remove it you have to throw it away. they make nice frisbes though
