THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO GET CLOSER TO EUROPE VIA AMERICA.

2006-11-13 02:27:49 · answer #1 · answered by RAMAN IOBIAN 7 · 1 0

Both Europe and America belong to the same western world of free market, with America leading in the experiment, because of its boldness and newness. Europe has been traditionally dismissed as an old block, pulled down by the old history and the constraints of the practice. Further, they were practising their brand of protectionism. Now that image is changing fast. There is an attempt at converting the European Union into some sort of an United States of Europe. However, that will take a long time, before it actually materialises. USA is still an advantageous destination for the Indians, chiefly for two reasons. Firstly, the globalisation is found to have its full expression in the States. Secondly, the advantages of the English language in USA, whereas in the Europe, excepting England, English is not only not spoken, but resented.

I think Europe is much more cultured and responsible. Even in its imperial ways there was a sense of civicness. But the Europe of Today as the Europe of yesterday is too much fragmented. Further, its cultural superiority has become its main problem. It cannot consolidate among it self. Further, Europe is sharply divided into old and new europe. There is neoracism and above all, it is insecure. Hence it is behaving protectively. America is still a nation of free people, who are the current leaders. They build things huge. It is in the national interest of India that it aligns in the medium terms with USA, but it should keep its longterm strategies and options quite open.

India should get closer to USA more.
Many young Indians are making America as their homes and these are all educated class. This shows it is better to be closer to usa than to be with Europe.
USA people are more trustworthy.

Actually no. US companies employ more people in India than the EU.

Politically I would say that would be a good move but not economically.
