If you read or plan on reading any of the James Bond Books by Ian Flemming you will see that Timothy Dolton probably resembled James Bond the most. In the books James Bond was brutally handsome (rough looking) charming but, must importantly cold and calculating. Timothy Dolton played that to a tee. However, the movies that Timothy Dolton was in were just bad. They weren't written very well which is too bad. Pierce Brosnan was also very good in the role. It is also hard to beat the original Sean Connery. I look forward to the new James Bond. I was dissappointed to see that Daniel Craig was chosen for the part but, I think I might be changing my mind about that. He might be really good. I hope so. Take care and remember the new bond movie comes out this Friday.

As Brosnan was the one who made the ones that I've been old enough to see in theaters, I vote him, but by all accounts Sean Connery is, was, and will always be the best, unfortunately as his films were done in the sixties and seventies they don't always age well.
That is by far the biggest issue with all Bond Films, they are clearly and with out a doubt always dated almost to the exact year they were made, but always to their decade.

Seann Connery wins WAY over Pierce Brosnan - he's just so much a better actor; gotta love the accent, too!

Connery, combination of acting, sex appeal, action, attitude. He just had the balance of all those things.
Dalton
Brosnan, I like him, he is probably more talented than Dalton, but I have problem with him in the action roles.
The Guy that made the one movie, On her Majesty's Secret Service
Moore
The jury's out on the newest bond, but I bet he ranks higher than the one guy, hahaha.
I didn't care for Moore if you don't get the point.
I liked Mighty's comments on Dalton, Bond should be a dark character, that is exactly why he ranks number 2, but you just can't beat Sean.

Sean Connery was excellent, no doubt about it. But having also read the James Bond novels, I'd have to say that the actor who most closely resembles James Bond as he was created by Ian Flemming is Timothy Dalton. Dark, rugged, handsome. somewhat reserved, brooding. VERY masculine.
*sigh*

I'm a big fan of Sean Connery and I've noticed that every other James Bond is compared to him. He was by far the best. After that is Pierce who did the role very well. Lastly, I'm excited to see how Craine is going to handle it.

I'm really not much of a James Bond fan myself, but I'd have to go with Sean Connery. THat man is fine and has a presence that would make a woman swoon.
