i never used i tunes before by the way... I got an ipod from my boss for $40, ipod mini and it has 406 songs already on it. I want to add more songs to it and delete some. I already have a few songs on itunes from my computer and limewire, but I can't figure out how to put it on my ipod. Can anyone tell me in babysteps how to do it and remove songs from ipod?

Plug in the ipod to the computer via the USB port.
Open iTunes.
The computer will ask you if you want to replace the songs on your ipod with the songs in the iTunes library.
Click no.
Go to the little button on the bottom right that looks like an ipod. Click on it, and click on the tab that says ipod.
There are three options there. Click the manual one.
Now you can manually add your songs from the library to your ipod. There is not a way that I know of that you can get all the songs on your ipod into the iTunes library.

Good Luck, and here's a tip. If you buy anything from the iTunes library, back it up on CD, otherwise, if you computer crashes or if you get a new one, you will still have the songs.

make sure you are syncing manually.. most likely your ipod settings are set to automatic.. since you bought used.. the ipod is looking for previous owners computer. go to tools in itunes and selected your ipod and in music tab select sync music manually.. if you are lucky then this is all it is..
