I think it is more aloof then mean. They are independent and with some it takes time for them to warm up to a person but when they do they don't forget you. I like the calming effect they have on me and my grandson who is rambunctious with everyone but my yaya's cat who just had kittens. This cat let him lay down by her and touch her babies. My yaya couldn't even get near them but he could. Like I said before aloof and independent.

I am a dog person and I do not like cats. They are stuck up and snooty. Not to mention carry lots of diseases, even the indoor ones. If I am at a friends place that have one I will pet it on the head and hope it goes away.

It depends on the Cat , just like with us humans..they have individual personalities and sometimes they're a little shy with new people. They are smart creatures...I have seen some that will warm up to a new person after awhile..

Possibly an ocelot or a caracal. Only two cats that are native to america that fit the bill are the bobcat which inhabits most of the United States and the Lynx which inhabits the extreme nothern us and canada.

One time, a cat jumped on my and scratched my arm and stomach! I still have a scar even though it has been about 5 years!!
Some of those cats act like they're too good for humans...
Once they leave their kittenhood, they're gone... it's a sad thing...
ha ha... :-)

defentely true. Most of my friends cats are so uptight, they always have this attitude and are never friendly, compared to my dog who want to play with everyone.
