The other day I asked the question; are Americans ready for war at their front door? Howard Dean has made statments that now that Democrats are in charge they will cut funding for the war and force Bush to bring our troops home. If we cut and run that is exactly what will happen . My question was made even more legitimate the next day when the head of Alquada in Iraq threatened to blow up the White House. Then my question was censored and erased. what happened to the right of free speech.

If your question was removed it was because someone reported it as abuse. It cannot be denied that some people are using the abuse system to suppress ideas and opinions they don't like, but I do not think it is a system bias and it appears to be happening related to all sides pretty equally. If you want to make the case that Yahoo does not really research abuse claims I would say that is correct. Often times it seems they are just removing anything reported no matter whether it is a violation or not.

I don't know about a liberal bias on YA but I know for a fact that Dean has not said the dems would cut funding with troops in Iraq.

BTW the first amendment doesn't apply to forums such as YA run by private companies. The government can't dictate what can and can't be allowed but Yahoo can on their own service.

Let me try very gently to explain this to you..... The US Constitution speaks of Freedom of Speech in one place - the First Amendment, which, you may recall, is part of the Bill of Rights. In its entirety, the First Amendment to the US Constitution says this: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. Read that again - it says "CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW....ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH...." Now, let's apply this to Yahoo! Answers.... To the best of my understanding, Congress has not made a law that abridges your freedom of speech on Yahoo! Answers. What I think you're actually complaining about is Yahoo! Answers own rules and regulations for using the website. Yahoo! is a private corporation, not part of the Federal government, and certainly not part of Congress, therefore, they have the right to establish whatever rules and regulations they please for how to "play nice" if you want to continue using their website. Please tell me that you don't think the "Right to Free Speech" is some kind of universal power to go anywhere you please and say anything you want. I'm assuming that you'd agree with me that I don't have a right to walk in your front door, sit down at your dinner table, and start hassling you with anything I feel like saying. Do you think that if you chase me out of the house, or call the police or threaten me with a bat, that I can start screaming "Free Speech! Free Speech! I have a right to Free Speech and these people won't let me have my Free Speech!!!!" Get back to us when you hear that Congress has passed new rules about what's acceptable for you to post on Yahoo! Answers. Until then, I'd recommend that you play by Yahoo's rules, or, as a private organization, they'll exercise their rights to freedom in their own "home" and ban you from the website. P.S. Yahoo's rules are restricted by laws that protect certain classes of individuals from discrimination. Even as a private organization, they could not, for example, have a rule that says that Catholic people can't post here. I'm oversimplifying things (quite a lot), but the simple answer is this: Your right to "Free Speech" refers only to the fact that the US Congress can not infringe upon your "free speech". Sorry.

I've heard of this happening, what a bunch of BS. Your question does not seem inflammatory at all.
Keep posting. I'm amazed at the number of absolutely idiotic questions that are on Yahoo answers... I would say half of the questions asked in politics are just plain stupid. It's fun to respond though, so I'll keep coming back for more!

Um, because no one wants to face the fact that America might be attacked again. We put ourselves in this war, which was downright a retarded move, and now I can guarantee, it isn't going to end peacefully... at least not for quite a long time. I don't think many Americans want to face that truth being that they are citizens of this country and either way, their lives are in danger. So, they're deleting your stuff to avoid confrontation and reality. Same reason people go bersek on homosexuals and abortion and blah blah.

Don't let paranoia grab hold of you. I asked a very pointed question about Ted Haggard last week and some religious nut reported me and poof there went my question. It's happening on both sides, relax, all it takes is one person who hates free speech to report you and your question is gone. That can mean anyone from a liberal Democrat to an ultra conservative Republican to a nutwing religious fanatic.

Dude, I know where you're coming from. I have had many legitimate questions and answers deleted (censored) by Yahoo. No cussing or anything like that, just political correctness run amok. Seems if you criticize the wrong liberal, like Michael J. Fox, or wrong group, like Muslims, you get zapped by those ever so 1st Amendment loving folks at Yahoo.

Sadly I get it from both sides...and in fact I was getting it from the Liberals first.
Now it seems the GOP is more active in false violations.

My question "who should I vote for and why" was censored.

That doesn't seem right; Did your question somehow threaten anyone or could it possibly be construed to incite? I would ask Yahoo what the deal is....
