Yes you can play movies on the Xbox 360 and you can also play Xbox games, but at this point in time the Xbox games are limited.

Not sure about the movies. As for the games, you can only play certain Xbox games on the Xbox 360. A list of Xbox games compatible with the 360 can be found here:

Duh, where did you come from, another planet. Of course you can play movies on a Xbox360, it's and upgrade of the xbox so it will still be able to play movies. Secondly, yes you can play Xbox game on the Xbox 360 cause it's just like the PS2 and the playstation situation, you can play PS1 games on the PS2 BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO THINK OF IT AS AN UPGRADE. Try it!
