I guess an argument can be made that all people should be interested in politics. However, I also believe that kids should be kids. Since anyone below the age of 18 cannot vote they should just enjoy their youth because it is fading fast. We put too much pressure on our children today to act like adults at a young age.

You don't want examples why teen should be interested in politics? What is the point of your question then?
I'll answer it anyways.
I think that if it interests them, then yes. I know that there are a lot of teens out there who understand the purpose of government, how it works, what it does for their country and for themselves. I am one of those teens. Before this past voting day, I researched all of the positions and candidates on my ballot extensively and felt that my very first vote was extremely satisfying and I look forward to following politics for the rest of my life!
But, there are also a lot of teens who could care less and I can understand why they feel that way. I just don't want those people who are not interested to vote!

teens should very much be interested in politics. Im 13 and i try to understand and know abt politics as much as i can. We are the future of our countries. In a few decades our parents and guardians will be long gone and it will be up to us to realise what is good and what is bad for our countries. We should know how to make a countries bettr and lead them to the path of development. If we sit idle and not get involved in knowing abt what goes on in our countries we will never progress and the world will be a chaotic place with no peace

My 16 year old son is intensely interested in politics. He's a jock and I'll admit his grades range from B's to C's. But he talks to me regularly about our government and what is going on. I try not to foist my own political beliefs on him. I want to him to continue to develop his own political leanings and take on the issues. His brother, who is the overachiever and is on the Dean's List at college, has minimal interest in politics right now. He voted the mid-terms - I drove him to the polling place to make sure lol. But he's so close-mouthed about politics I don't know which way he voted and it's none of my business. I encourage my younger son's political interest, he came upon it on his own. I actually hear him and his friends discussing it from time to time. How can it be bad for him for be interested in his government? I'm proud he gives a damn.

Of course, it is very important that our youth take an interest in politics so that they will be better informed about what is happening within our government, also they will be able to decide for themselves on whom is a better choice for public office, instead of listening to other peoples views on who they SHOULD vote for.
