most laptops out there in the market performs very well now a days as long as you get the memory and speed you like. i will suggest dell computers simply because of their support incase you have a problem with your system. Toshiba, Sony and Apple are all rated very high.

DELL is the best. Just make sure to find out which line suits you best. Inspiron, XPS, Latitude or Mobile workstation. Inspiron is the best if you are cash strapped. XPS if you are a gamer. Latitude if you are thinking about Total Cost of Ownership over a long run. Mobile workstation if you are a geek or scientiest.

id Reccomend Acer and HP!! Hp keeps on running, ive had no trouble with mine, and my previous Acer was also great, two reliable companies, do not get apple. Unless ur working with graphics.

i recommend, Dell. their computers are very cheap and they last long. never never buy compaq, or hp, (since they're the same company), since they only last about 2 years. apple and sony are also very good, but they're so expensive!!

stay away from Dell and Gateway id go with a Tobisha or a Sony

there are a lot of good companies.i'd get dell,fujitsy siemens or asys.Don't go with apple !
