I have an all in one Dell pinter. I can't get it to do anything. On the printer it says hardwear error 0502. I've tried reinstalling it and i made sure the properties were right. Nothing seems wrong but it still won't work. Does anyone Know how to fix this? PLEASE HELP!!!

Well if it says Hardware error, that usually means there's a problem with the printer itself and not the software or drivers. I'd give dell a call and ask them what's going on, hopefully you still have a guarantee for ur printer

Try turning the printer off at the wall, restarting the PC and once the PC has booted up turn the printer back on, if the device is not installed correctly, windows should come up with the little "Found New Hardware" popup.
If it does, just go from there and follow the on screen instructions using the driver CD

Try cleaning and lubricating the rail that the cartridges slide on. Clean the rail with a damp cloth, then put a small amout of oil - WD-40 is ideal and try again.

If that does not work, I've heard that ensuring you have the most current printer driver might also work, but since this is a hardware error, the likely cause is the ink deposits on the rail.

A manual with a complete list of hardware error codes should have come with your printer. Try there first. If that doesn't work, go to the Dell.com website and troubleshoot it using their system. Sounds like there's a problem internally with your printer that needs resolved...hope you have a warranty!

It's hard to give you a definite answer without the model of your printer. It may be a paper jam or a problem with the cartridges. Click the link below, then click troubleshooting, and follow onscreen directions. It will lead you to the exact information for your printer.
