My computer is running slower than usual scince i got myspace. every time i go there, McAffe (my virus scan) tells me that it found a trojan and cleaned it. Should i still be worried about the trojan being there?

OK - apart from re-running the virus scan, you will need to run a malware scan (try Ewido); in fact I'd be suggesting running first in safe mode and then re-running in a normal Windows boot (running in safe mode will clip it's wings but may not pick up everything).

The important thing to remember is that the Trojan is not the virus or malware itself, but merely the delivery system. Unless McAffe was able to clearly identify the Trojan's payload, it is better to treat for BOTH viral and malware infections

Mcafee is like Nortons, pure garbage for many years and continues to get worse each an every year. This is obvious as Mcafee, is not doing the job for you. You can only run one antivirus program or you will have conflict. Go to add/remove and remove Mcafee. If it is purchased and you really want to keep the program, then just shut it down from your tray at the bottom of your monitor.

Then download an excellent free program that I use. http://www.avast.com They are out of Prague and will ask you for your email address so they can send you your free key that is good for one year. After one year you just request a new key.
As an excellent background scanner that really works in real time to prevent a trojans from every entering your system. Will delete or destroy before the trojans gets into your system. Auto, updates two or three times per day.

Never had one virus in nine plus years with Avast.

Just remember that you can only run one antivirus. Either run avast with Mcafee shut down or remove. Or just run Avast and remove after the virus is removed.

The choice is yours as to what antivirus you want to keep in your system. It is quite obvious that Mcafee has failed you.

What may be happening is sites you are surfing on may have a virus or the graphics you have on your page may have a virus. It sounds like you antivirus software is not doings its job. Are you paying for the updates? Maybe you should get Norton Antivirus instead. I noticed however that the comet cursor everyone is using is actually a virus so be careful and remove it from you page.
