You meant NEXT year.
Who knows? A little too early to make any reliable predictions.....it wasn't until half way through the Brazilian GP that we knew for sure who would win THIS year's championship (well, in my opinion, anyway).
I think most people would put their money on one of the red car drivers or Alonso at McLaren, and some may mention Jenson Button, but Fisi is probably considered as the darkhorse at best.
I don't really think that the psychological effect of him being the No1 driver in the team would make him go that much faster. It really depends on the performance of the car next year. New regulations, new tyres, new aero... It's not just how well the team develops the car over the off season, but also how well the other teams do the job during winter.
My answer? My heart says "No", my gut says "No", my brain says "Maybe", but I don't trust it very much.

Absolutely no chance. Sorry, but he doesn't have what it takes. What I'm talking about is the special something that all champions have, but can't be defined. The first time I noticed Alonso, I knew he would be champion one day. Fisichella is obviously very good, just to be in F1, but when has he really ever impressed you? The 2007 champion will be Finnish and he will be driving a Renault.

Bernie only likes to stir issues up slightly. Fisi has been only a sprint an Enigma - he regarded so reliable in his early days at Jordan & Renault, yet Alonso made him seem ordinary. He certainly is stable at driving a adverse automobile, and additionally knows automobile progression properly, so group India could do plenty worse than hire him...

I'd give him a sporting chance, he might get this one because he no longer has the pressure of having Alonso as a teammate and he has a great car. The Renault R26 is a great base for next year's car.

What? Who? Fisi? Maybe it would be the long expected surprise...but it could be another surprise. I mean every pilot sais "I will win in 2007, I would do my best... my team and I..." Can you believe each of them now?

I don't think he will. I'd bet on Raikkonen ot Alonso. Of course he has a chance but I reckon it's a slim one.
