Whenever I go in for a physical exam my mom always comes with me. She doesn't just wait in the waiting room, she comes into the exam room with me.
I don't really mind that at all and she's come my whole life so I am used to it but none of my friends will let their moms come in. So I am wondering if there are other guys out there my age (high school) or older who let their moms go to their physicals.
my e-mail is:

Some people are misunderstanding this. I don't mind that my mom goes with me, I'm not that shy. I just don't know anyone else my age (high school) who does let their mom go and would like to hear from moms or other guys about this.
Dad goes sometimes too.

Tell her you want to go in alone, and if your doc needs to speak to her, she will be the first to know. Jeeze, mom.....

If you are a grown man. . anything over 18,then she needs to respect your privacy and let you go to the exam alone.
If you are under the age of 18,she is doing her Mom job.
I have 2 sons and when they were under the age of 18 I too went into the exam with them but turned my back when the exam got real personal.
Children don't really know what to expect from exams like these and don't always remember what the Dr tells them so it is very important for Mom to be there.
Mom's often times have questions that she will remember to ask once in the Dr office that you might have forgotten.
I won't say that the other Mom's don't care about those who go to physicals alone but they will certainly lack awareness of problems that might exsist if the child forgets to pass on the information.
Your Mom is doing the right "parent" thing and I commend her for it because as you have already seen, some parents don't concern themselves with it.
Since I work in a medical facility I can tell you that more and more Dad's are coming with the child and I also commend that.
When a parent doesn't accompany a child to the Dr's office I often times question their behavior as I always wanted to know what was going on with my child.
Now,as the years went by and I felt confident in my child's Dr there were times when I didn't go in the exam room and that tended to be as my son's got older yet younger than 18.

Pediatrics begins as a parent-doctor relationship, but ideally changes to a patient-doctor relationship as the child approaches adolescence. Parents sometimes have difficulty "letting go" or insist on being present because "we're paying the bill!" Part of parenting is to foster maturity and independence in your offspring. Conversely, the adolescent should demonstrate trustworthiness and make responsible choices. Your mom still has an important role to play in your life, but not in the exam room.

I think your Mummy needs to take a less active interest in her little boys physical development. You need to not just cut but RIP that umbilical cord. Tell her you no longer feel comfortable with her there. Be strict, be rational (don't throw a hissy fit) and be a MAN. Tell her No! Bad Mum! and give her a whack across the muzzle with a newspaper. You need to be a man and stand up to pushy women- otherwise you're going to have a life of misery dating women exactly like her.

Just tell her you want your privacy. Also, you can ask your doctor NOT to allow her in the examination room.
