I was thinking about punching holes in pieces of paper and stringing them up or putting them in a binder. I'll use a glue stick to stick on the pictures. Is that ok? I don't get to see my dad often, so I came up with this idea for a Christmas present.

First of all, outsource your family for pictures, newspaper articles, even favorite family recipes, saved greeting cards from holidays and birthdays etc, everyone will have something to contribute, right down to pressed flowers from funerals. Purchase one of those very inexpensive photo albums, from your local dollar store. just arrange the items in between the plastic in the pages, to keep them well preserved. You can decorate the cover with some cut and paste.if you like. The best cover, would be a picture of him in his young years. You can do it! Don't stop there . You have a very Good I idea. I always take pictures throughout the year and then buy inexpensive frames for a dollar or two and give them to everybody in the family as my Christmas gift to them. It gives a memory and it is the greatest, most appreciated affordable gift!

I think that sounds great. I would use tape on the pictures, in case you want to move the pictures around. You can buy a photo album at Wal-Mart or Michael's and card stock at the same place. See if any other family members have pictures you can use. Micheal's web site has page layout, for inspiration.

hey, i made one for my husband for christmas last year and it cost me less than $10

i got him a nice photo album at the dollar store ($1) i got a pack of construction paper($1) markers ($1) and different types of stickers ($3) i went threw old photos and of him before we met and ones that i had taken since we got together cut them in differrent shapes used a glue stick to glue them to the cont. paper, cut the paper slightly bigger than the picture then put that on a different color paper and cut it slightly bigger than the first. i went threw each photo like this and added little sayings to each page and a few stickers.. the first page i wrote about our time together and how much it ment to me and on the last page i wrote about our plans for the future together. it was very simple but did take over a month to do (had to do it when he was at work and i wasnt) he loved it and has showed it to everyone that has walked in out front door.
