It doesn't change. The ice has already displaced all the water it's going to. You can try this yourself. Fill a glass with ice. Now add water to the very top. When the ice melts, the glass will NOT have overflowed.

Nothing the first answer is correct. It seems one of the other answers trys to defend the global warming scare mongers that the water level will rise on the earth. But that is only if ice melts on the land not floating. Most of the artic and anartic ice sheets are floating. And the ice the global warming nuts point at melting is also floating.
Beyond that the amount of water vapor in the air increases as the temperature increases so again the water level doesn't rise. Also it produces clouds which limits solar radiation from reaching the ground.

When Ice is floating, the ice will protrude partially out of the water. If the Ice is freely floating in the water, and not being held up by any outside force, the water level (not counting the part of the ice that sticks up) is the same as it would be if the ice is melted. (the volume of ice that is under the water's surface is equal to the volume of water that the ice will become when it melts.

Do you want to know wheter the level of water does rise or not? It does not. But in geographically view, melting of ice in the arctic region has difficult effects because ice is better in reflecting the sunlight and this may cause cooling down of athmosphere which has further effects in the amount of water in the atmospere. Water in the athmosphere is not in the ocean, so waterlevel depends on melting ice.

The level is the same, no change, because the volume of ice is greater than water, when it melts, it equals the volume of displaced water.
