Are these two restaurants really that great are there any other restuarants that compare with these, and does the golden Corral only serve Breafast on the weekend??

I like the Golden Corral. My husband eats too much there. He calls it the Golden Pigout!!! Whenever we go to Ponderosa, we always get sick.

Ponderosa was excellent, back in the day.....I think that Golden Corral is great. I like it to because they have a wide selection of food, so I can find something for my 2 yr old to eat. I am not for sure about breakfast though. But, I think the food is pretty good, price isn't so bad either.

I haven't seen a Ponderosa in many years, so I would have to say Golden Corral. But I Haven't eaten there for about a year since I have to drive 3 hours to get to one.

Golden Corral is the better of the 2, but both amount to crappy buffets where either you eat too much, the food's lousy or both. As for wanting to eat breakfast at one of those places, as Hugh Grant tried so hard to say in the movie Mickey Blue Eyes, "fugedaboudit!"

If only the buffet is what you are looking for, the Golden Corral has a much larger variety of food, & it is prepared well...
However, Ponderosa gives you steak!!! with a buffet... which makes it pretty darn good in my opinion.

We like Golden Corral because there's a hugh selction, the food doesn't sit long, replaced quickly. You can eat sensibly or pig out. All the cooking and baking is done on site. The salad bar is decent too.

golden corral is better than ponderosa. & the breakfast is only on the weekends.
