The current Burger King "King" with mask was base on a likeness of actor Fred Barns who did the"King" in makeup and fake beard/mustache. back in the late 70's, and early 80's . FYI Burger King was a Britsh own company until 2005 when it was sold to Tricon (which is own by Pepsi) which already owns KFC,Taco Bell, Pizza Hut , Long John Silver, and A&W restaurants.

Oooh, they're the two fantastically creepy....The Burger King. that massive plastic head....and how he shows up in mattress for those breakfast commercials! *shudder* yet I hate the Wendy's commercials the place people positioned on those stupid purple braids! Wendy's used to rock the ultimate commercials with Dave Thomas, founding father of Wendy's. He replaced into hilarious! RIP

Definitely. Excellent example of a good marketing idea gone horribly, horribly wrong in real life.
