Green peace / friends of the earth / and other pressure groups / NGOs peddle their diatribe crappola to anyone who will listen.
Government Ministers get told by their aids about items of interest which may be a good view point to express, and so by enhancing the governments popularity.
Green issues are seen to be in vogue at the moment because everyone in both government and the opposition parties are trying to pander to worries over global warming. A few years ago it was over worries of GM crops, and before that it was something else..
Unfortunately government ministers often don't have the slightest idea what's true or not, because pressure groups don't always tell the whole truth and very often tell lies,, or paint the situation so black that ministers have to take notice .
This is the case right now concerning global warming and how the people of the UK are involved, and what we have to do to bring about changes that will make a difference. Sometimes when you switch on the TV news it appears that UK population is responsible for the entire co2 emission causing global warming..
OK so lets switch off every electrical device.. lets not drive, lets not fly, lets not get out of bed .. You know something, if the UK sank into the north sea, and its co2 emission stopped completely, it wouldn't make the slightest difference to the global warming issue..
When people talk about co2 emissions they say something like 25% of this 6% of that.. The fact is they are miss representing the figures involved by not clarifying where the and what the figures represent. Its understood that the total UK emission of co2 is 2% of the total for the entire world.. So that leaves 98% for the rest of the world.
If you split that 2% up into the its various producer groups. with in the UK only you'll find something like
25% house hold uses =.25% or one 1/4 UK of total
25% industrial use =.25% or one 1/4 UK of total
25% power generation =.25% or one 1/4 UK of total
between 2 and 6% for transport =.02% to .06% UK of total
with last 19% being produced in other no specific ways..
The fact is the UK isn't a bad polluter , and most of what you read is scare mongering,.

If Environmentalists get their way, they will shut down every factory and every oil well in the country.
They are a bunch of whacko freaks.
BUT POWERFUL.
They pour millions into the Democrat Party every election.
And the Democrats pay them back by hurting the USA.
Everything is money, money, and money.
