some kids think they can leave school to become a million dollar rapper, hip hop can get some kids dreams for the future while others get an attitude during school, it all depends on who they listen to... tupac knew what he was talkin about

Hip hop may affect them by giving them a biased look at how their lives "could be" if they are slaves to the fashion, lingo, and women, the cars... Some children told me they want to be rappers have have girls with big booties because they seen it on television. How many hours do they spend watching that when compared to reading? More hours than reading a good book. They can sing the lyrics backwards and forwards from memory alone, but can't tell me 16/4 in math. But, maybe I should put the blame on the parents.

It makes some children study harder so they can grow up to not be like the Rappers and Hip Hop artists they see on TV.
Then there are those who see that as a goal to aim for, romanticizing the "Thug Life", thus why do they need school so and so didn't.

personally i think it's more than just the music they listen to, granted it does offer a lot of negative effects like thinking they're a little too BA to go to school or whatever. I think it's a combination of friends and family upbringing AND the music. I listen to everything including rap, but i'm also well aware of other things that need to be done like school and work.

Watch the children start to drop more than the pants when they go looking for work. Already seeing most of my students are thinking all they have to do is show up and they'll pass. Poor skills in general at communication and can't retain knowledge.

nothing. it had no effect on me when i was growing up. parents need to stop blaming tv for everything and take responsibility, because their children's behaviors begins at home.

The first thing that comes to mind is that, the younger generation seem to have been rendered completely incapable of speaking or spelling proper english. Example: Dis iz da shiznitz! Wat up wid dis! Aight!
