That would be called a Gavel. The use for it is supposed to be calling to order, ending a session and restoration of order in the courtroom.

Gavel. Don't ya hate it when a word escapes?

I was hung up (believe it or not) on the word "of" the other day. The spelling just wasn't there. It sounds 'uv' and for some reason "of" didn't look right. I had to grab a newspaper and search for the word to convince myself.

The real sad part is, I didn't even do any fun drugs in the sixties to blame it on.... just a braindrain.

He's looking at TWO FELONIES just for a Domestic Violence call? Just how physical did he get??? Being a former cop, chances are very good this *will* continue. It always does. And the police were probably right in filing on your behalf( which they *do* have the authority under the Family Violence Act, whether you like it or not). But you're more concerned about the dogs next week, right? I think everyone concerned would be better off if you could/would distinguish between reality and what you *think* you know.
