The cotton wrinkles and shrinks less,...it also tends to make the fabric last a little longer and not "ball up". The clothing item also retains its shape longer.

Cotton shrinks and wrinkles a great deal. Polyester also keeps you warm like cotton.
Since I hate to iron, the polycotton blends serve my purposes...which is only.....take out the iron maybe once a year....yeah....!

Clothing made from Polycotton is normally easier to iron because it doesn't crease as much as a cotton only materia and when it drys it doesn't seem to be as creased when it drys on the line.

Fewer wrinkles. Polyester doesn't wrinkle like cotton does, so a cotton poly blend garment won't need to be ironed as much as something made of 100% cotton.

You get the best qualities of both fabrics:
the cotton means the fabric breathes and is not static, it hangs better and is more pleasant to wear than 100% synthetic fabric.
the polyester means the fabric resists stains and is easy to wash and iron, and easier to cut and sew.
