If her parents will be there checking on her then why is she babysitting? wouldn't the parents be able to watch the kids if they are there. If she wants to hang out with her crush during the daytime while her parents are home they might be okay with that. But the question doesnt make sense. If the parents are home why are you babysitting? And if her crush did spend the night..what would you do? play board games and video games? nooo..i think there would be a little curiosity going on. it just would be a bad idea.

There is opportunity, however large or small, for physical contact to be made between an 11 year old girl and her "crush." Even if the window of opportunity is extremely small, its mere existance can stress out parents. As you know, we all avoid stress. And if I have need a babysitter so that I might attend to important business or for stress-relieving recreation, stress is even more importantly avoided in those situations. Kids are growing up super fast these days, and today's 11 very well may be the 13 of 10 or 20 years ago (why else would an 11 year old be trusted to babysit?). Point is, kids are maturing faster, so having concerns about leaving them alone with members of the opposite sex are probably based on some degree of validity.

No, it is a very bad idea. 11 is really too young to be babysitting in the first place. How would she handle and emergency like a choking child or a gas leak? She is certainly much too young to have a boy come over to spend time with her in an unsupervised situation. An 11 year old is not old enough for a boyfriend. What are you people thinking???

Bad idea, since 11 year olds are not considered very responsible at that age anyway. Babysitting should be for 13 years old and above, I think. And to have "your crush" there makes it all that more irresponsible. If anything, have another girl there.

What I got to ask is what moron leaves thier kid with a kid.
It is against the law to have an 11 year old babysit and if caught they are going to be in a lot of trouble. The youngest age a person can babysit is 15 in some states but most have the law of 16.

An 11 year old is too young to babysit unless her parents are in the building with her. Not next door. and no one should have their "crush" over when they are babysitting. It detracts from watching the kids. You never know what might happen and that 11 year old might not be able to handle it. Does she know CPR?

it's a bad ideal. first off a 11 year old shouldn't be babysitting.Second, its against the law in most states to leave a 11yr old home w/out an adult. She shouldn't be babysitting with her crush either.Think about it young girl&guy alone in a house, free to do what ever they please. If she really wants someone her age to babysit with her get one of her girl friends(friend thats a girl) so they can spend the night talking about her crush.

She's too young for babysitting, even with help from her parents. I'd have my 11 year old being babysat, not babysitting.
Mixed gender overnighters? Maybe not a HUGE deal at age 11, but definitely not a good precedent to set for the years ahead. She's developmentally ahead of him, and she needs to begin to understand that that just isn't O.K. anymore like it might have been when she was 5. You gotta keep 'em sepparated!

Babysitting with someone else is not a good idea. First, it means less money. It also means less attention towards the kids. Something could happen when she isn't watching. Remember, most parents have more then one babysitter. They usually have their favorites and the "Back-ups." If you want to keep babysitting for them (for money) you have to play with the kids. Doing the job with another girl, let alone another guy, is a bad idea.
