Well that's what war is.
People die, people get hurt and s h i t gets blown up.

War is not necessarily meant to kill and break things, there is always an objective as was the case in Iraq. Get rid of Saddam and establish a democracy in the mid east. When the Dutch are confronted with force they just leave and wait until the invaders grow tired of the area they invaded and then the Dutch return, see no one killed, nothing broken.
