It would depend on what type of cleaning you are doing. For example, a 'normal' weekly cleaning may not include the insides of appliances, cabinets, or windows, etc., but be limited to dusting, cleaning the outer surfaces, emptying garbage, washing ash trays, washing the floors, and putting dirty dishes into the diswasher, and leaving things neat and tidy.

deep cleaning is more labor intensive and expensive.

The average wage one makes when working for a cleaning service is based on the area. Usually a little above minimum wage.
If you contract the job yourself, you can get around $20-30. per hour, depending on how fast or slow you work.

If you look at the square footage, and aproximate how long it will take you to do the work, you can set your price accordingly. It is always good to get a feel for what the going rate is in your area first.

best wishes

my mother used to clean houses, and she would charge $14.00/hr. if the customer complained about the price she would simply say "if you were to scrub someone elses toilet, how much would you charge?" that always shut them up. the way i feel is you can do it by the job or the hour. whatever you think is a fair trade. you have to consider the following though. you have to claim this income at the end of the year, and you have to buy insurance in case you break something or something comes up missing because you are the one responsible if this problem happens.

it depends on the house. housecleaners dont charge by the hour, they charge by the size of the house. that's because you clean until teh whole house is clean, not for a certain amount of time. usually from 70-100 dollars. I would say $85.
