Dells usually last about 2 years and acers last about 6 months to 1 year

Dell for the simple reason that it offers on site support whereas the acer offers only off site. Re. repairs, it is million dollar question. The period depends on the conditions in which u work and the amount of care u take in looking after the machine urself.

acer. no clue. Dell, my first service was about 1 year and 1/2 . it just cannot open and respond.

Dells tech support sucks. The people over there are horrible, useless, so I wont even buy a dell ever again.
