When i was shopping once with my mum i think i saw a game on the Nintendo Ds saying that if i bought the game that i could visit the internet. I didn't go over to where i saw it to look at it more because we were in a rush but is there actually a game that can do this is was it just my imagination?

You're Not Imagining Things, There Is Indeed A Web Browser For The DS From The People Who Brought You The Opera Browser For Your Computer (1)..

The Opera Nintendo DS Browser Comes In 2 Versions Depending On If You Have An Original DS Or DS Lite. This Is Because It Will Need To Use Both Game Card Port And Game Pak Port.

The Browser Has Many Features Like The Opera On Your Desktop, But I've Heard Many Complaints On It Being Slow.

As Of Now, The DS Browser Is Available In Japan And Europe, And Unlike The Opera For You Computer, You'll Need To Pay For It..

For More Info On The Opera Browser For Nintendo (including the wii), See Here (2)..

You can also play other players over Wi-Fi connection to the internet on MARIOKART DS (as well as between DS consoles within range)

and I also just found this list of others on Wikipedia
