well, my roommate started this pole dancing job at a club downtown. She says it's really fun and relaxing. She wants me to try it out but i don't know if i want to. i've always thought it was wrong but she says it's really fun. Should I do it? and also does pole dancing involve any kind of stripping?

Hey candiquee...,

My advice, do something better with yourself. You will most likely be expected to take off your top, and dance in provocative ways, sexually explicit implications etc.

If that is ok with you, I am sure the guys will be all over you. Inbetween sets, you will probably sit at the tables with the guys. And, they will be drinking.

Ask your friend what exactly her job involves. Pole dancing in itself can be fun and good exercise, and if you're interested in that, there are pole dancing aerobic classes and things like that. Dancing at a club is probably not a good idea, though, as it probably does involve stripping and flirting with the men. Some clubs don't, but most do.

Kind of confused, what does she want you to try? Pole dancing, or working at the club with her?

Yes, if you want to be a pole dancer *at a club*, it will involve stripping (and practice...). If it's just for fun, then taking your clothes off is completely up to you :-P

Yes.
Pole dancing is a form of dancing/gymnastics that takes muscular endurance and coordination as well as sensuality. It involves dancing sensually with a vertical pole and is often used in strip clubs and gentlemen's clubs, although more recently artistic pole dancing (Chinese Poles) is used in cabaret/circus and stage performance in a non-erotic environment. In a strip club setting, pole dancing is often performed less gymnastically and combined with striptease, and/or lap dancing between performers. The dancer(s) may simply hold the pole, or use it to perform more athletic moves such as climbs, spins, and body inversions.

Everyone has their own set of morals and their own definition of fun and relaxing. If doesn't sound right to you, then don't do it. I don't know if it would involve stripping, but you would have to dress and dance provocatively, at the least. If you are unsure, go watch your friend dance and then you can at least tell her you thought about it, but it just wasn't right for you.

their is nothing wrong with pole dancing :)
do what you wish -

if you dont mind being sexually provocative, then thats fine- its just a job
i myself wouldnt have a chance on the poles because i would get nervous, and seriously cant dance :P

if you can get past that, then their should be quite a lot of money in it, and its an experience right

no do not do pole dancing, because yes it does involve stripping your clothes off.... You just make sexy poses on a pole and get money... Mostly from guys.... But that's just detail.... My main thing to tell you is don't do it.. Dont let you friend talk you into it at all... Its like a drug or cigaretts. Once you do them once you will wanna do it more and more and more until you have to do it because your stuck to it just like a pill or a drug! dont try it at all once but dont do pole dancing.....

Sincerely,
Willow

I guess it be fun for a woman wanting recognition from a lot of men. I would suggest working as a waitress at a nice restaurant. If, you can get organized and take care of your customers you can still make pretty good money on tips. AND, you still get recognition from men, but, in a more respectful manner.

If it doesn't involve stripping then it's a complete waste of bar space.
