what you need from a boyfriend may not be the same as what you need from your friends,,really,,as long as they all have your best interests at heart it is not so bad,,they dont HAVE to get along but also neither side should put down the other,,who you date is not your friends business,yes they can show support,,they can be there if it all goes wrong but it is your life and you who it is happening to,,as long as they respect that its fine,,its good your boyfriend tries to get on with them and you have to assess whether or not your friends are just causing trouble or if their worries are valid,,if there is no reason for them to dislike him you will have to tell them that for your benefit,they should at least try to be pleasant as it makes your life difficult,if they care for you they will show you the respect you want by backing off.maybe keep your friends and boyfriend apart,,not everyone will get on no matter how much you want them to.
