For a Coast Guard spouse to live w/ her husband on base and become an orthodontist? I wouldnt think she would have trouble for the first 4 years; either taking classes on base or online; but after that when she needs to go to dental school; where would she go? She would have to go to one of the 56 accreditated dental schools and that would be hard if ones not around the base. I might be missing something here, can anyone give me adivise..PLEASE!? for 10 points

Do you get to select where you will be stationed? There is a Coast Guard Base and several dental schools here in Boston and I'm sure the same is true for NY, San Diego, San Francisco etc. It seems that the problem would be guaranteeing that she gets accepted at a school in the same city in which you are stationed.

Could you join the Coast Guard to be a Dental Assistant? Then you'd both be at the same base and the CG would pay for your training. Would be a good start.

Yes it's possible, depends on where the base is located. She might have to go away to finish school though.
