Let the integers be 'x' and 'x + 2'
x + x + 2 = 114
x + x = 114 - 2
x + x = 112
2x = 112
x = 112/2
x = 56
The two integers are 56 and 58.

Hope that helped.

let the first integer be x.
the second integer will be (x+2)

Note: for example say the integer is 2; the next given integer is given by 2+2 = 4. Get the idea?

since we are given the sum of the two even integers i.e.

x + (x+2) = 114
2x +2 = 114
2x = 114-2 = 112
therefore x = 56

and viola. your two consecutive even integers are 56 and 56+2 = 58.

hope this helps!

p.s.: i'm guessing you have not learnt how to solve problems using algebra yet?

Let the low be s.
The next one is then s + 2.
And s + s + 2 = 114
