IDon't have access to a hoist.I'd like to leave the transaxle in.

i own a repair shop,and i have removed a lot of them ,but i have done them from the top,I'm sure it can be done from the bottom but its really hard that way ,and i gets everything out of of alignment on it,you can rent a cherry picker for a day to get it out the top, if that would be better for you but you can remove everything through the bottom,but your going to have a real mess to put back together,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

Yes you should be able to get it out through the top just fine. If I was you I would take off the hood to give you more room to work and to pull it out. I have pulled out GEO motors through the top without any problems at all. They are so light that you really don't even need a engine lift at all. You might have someone else help you lift it though when the time comes just to be on the safe side though.
