Would it really improve the quality of the national team? Or would it just result in a mediocre league full of mediocre English players? Looking at the Arsenal/Liverpool lineups, they'd both be screwed. I think Liverpool have injuries, but out of 22 players on the pitch there's two English players.

It's alright to have a couple foreign players, but at a certain point you look at the name "ENGLISH Premier League" and you have to wonder if any of them are English at all. Its a tough issue because on one hand I should be happy to see a well played game of football, but on the other hand, if I want to watch English teams, shouldn't the players on them be from England?

i think there should be a limitation, it's to protect the local talents...maybe there's a lot of great and star players from foreign country but i think as a good country...you should be put the local hero first =)
